I have been Plant manager at Hospidana for 28 years. This company is like my baby and everything I do is heartfelt. My background is an education as electrical mechanic.

My family and I have lived more than 40 years in Maribo and over the years we have gotten very attached to the local community and culture.

At Hospidana we produce tubular bandages and distribute more than 250 Ton per year. We also produce elastic bandages and continue to include innovation as part of our direction. We produce and sell quality products, and we know that our bandages make a difference for our customers and ultimately the patients.

Although the production is complicated we have very few complaints. That is very important to us, and something that we are very proud of. We have a well-known brand with distribution in most of Europe and USA.

Hospidana is a small, intimate company where the employees have a very close relationship with each other. Most people have been here for many years, but new employees are being welcomed into our family with open arms. Hospidana is a workplace with high level of individuality where employees are trusted to make their own decisions and impact their job content.

The culture of the team is based on a genuine care for each other, and we are proud of being a Danish production site.

Sales and logistics

I am working with sales and logistic and has been trained as an administration assistant. I was the first trainee Hospidana ever had, and now I have been here for 25 years.

Over the years I have been involved in several parts of the company. I have been in the production to understand what we produce and how we obtain the quality of our products. I have even been part of the packing and supply chain, to get a thorough insight of the full organisation. Now I am responsible for sales and logistics, and I am part of the administration here in Hospidana.

I feel that I am part the production flow, and an important part of the entire team. By taking ownership I feel that I contribute to the developments and new initiatives in the company.

I have been here for all these years, because there are always new things happening, and we continue to develop our production.

This is a company with room for family and private obligations. We care for each other and have respect for the work-life balance. I enjoy being able to plan my own time, so it fits both my private life and the team.

We are 15 employees across the production site here in Maribo. We have a really nice employee association – to drive social arrangements and daily treats. We are a strong team, and we always help each other. I appreciate that we have an open culture with room for diversity.

Technician

I work as technician here at Hospidana and I am responsible for the electric function of our machines. I have an education as automation technician. I started as a trainee in June last year, and now since January 2024, I have a part-time employment. I have been trained in-house to learn how to service and repair the machines. I have been out of job for some time but have been meet with new opportunities here at Hospidana.

I am thrilled to be part of the team and have great colleagues. The workplace is very nice, and I feel that I have become part of a skilled and embracing team. The atmosphere is relaxed and the support within the team is outstanding.

The local area is a quiet and beautiful part of Denmark, with a lot of activities and interest for each other. Doing activities outside the job with my colleagues is much appreciated.

In the future, I would like to work with the optimization of our production, and I feel that I have the opportunity to impact our journey moving forward.

Production

I have been here for 15 years spread out on two different time periods. I work in the production site and have multiple roles. I know the entire production flow and am able to work in different stations during the day.

Hospidana is a workplace where you have the opportunity to challenge yourself and get involved in the decisions made on a daily basis. The job in production is varying and you need to be able to help out where it is needed.

I work with my own production planning at my station, based on the order and production flow. We work dedicated with optimization in the production of each type of bandage to ensure that we have a continuously effective flow.

As a team we have a strong connection that is driven by our social activities, and the respect for each other as colleagues. At Hospidana we have room for everyone and we strive to make each individual feel welcome.

For me, daily impact and good colleagues are the most important aspects of my job, and that is exactly what I get here at Hospidana. I plan to be here until I need to retire.

Warehouse / Service

I work within warehouse & service and have been here for 7 years. Previously I worked in a store but didn’t like the working hours much. I heard about Hospidana though a friend and decided to reach out to them. At that point Hospidana didn’t have any open positions, but after an interview they opened a position for me.

I also work as firefighter, so it is important to me that I can work flexible hours here at Hospidana. I feel trusted and get to make independent decisions in my job.

I thrive in my work, and the responsibility that comes with my role. We help each other out when needed and are all trained to support other functions in the production site than our primary role.

The employee association is working very well, and we do a lot of fun activities together. That is something that I would like to underline as the bigger part of our company culture.

I live here in Maribo, and it is important for me that I have the ability to put my family in focus, and not spend long hours on transportation to my job.

The fewer people you are in a working place the more important it becomes to have a good working environment.
